Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries: Max Brenner Style

Traditional chocolate-dipped strawberries are delicious, but chocolate-dipped strawberries rolled in Crunchy Hazelnut Bits are … well, mind-blowing. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or just an any day pick-me-up, this sexy spin on an already-tempting treat will change the way you dip forever.

1) Wash Strawberries

Place berries in a pasta strainer and wash with luke warm water. Set aside to dry naturally.

2) Melt the Chocolate

There are two ways of doing this and both are just fine by us:

Fill a large skillet with water and heat to just below simmering. Place a bag of Milk Chocolate Caibos (available in all Max Brenner Chocolate Shops or in our Love Story Gift Set) in a heatproof bowl and place the bowl in the water. Gently and constantly stir the chocolate while keeping the water below simmering.

Alternatively, melt the chocolate in a glass bowl in the microwave at 50 percent power for intervals of 20 seconds. Stir until melted and warm.

3) Add the bits … the Hazelnut Bits, that is

Place hazelnuts in a small plastic bag and seal. Use a rolling pin to crush the hazelnuts, then pour them into a small bowl.

4) Dip, baby, dip

Holding onto the stem, dip each strawberry into the milk chocolate. Swirl around, covering about ¾ of the strawberry and then pull directly up. Hold strawberry over the bowl, letting excess chocolate drip off. Finally, before the chocolate starts to harden, dip strawberry into the bowl of crushed hazelnuts.

5) Place on Parchment Paper

After each strawberry is dipped and coated, place on a parchment lined baking sheet.

6) Enjoy!

Chill for 15 minutes to shock the chocolate shell, and then serve to your drooling significant other.
